Mayor Karl Dean and Chief Ronal Serpas today welcomed the 56 members of Police Recruit Session 57, the largest class to begin the academy in nearly three years. Graduation is set for July 17. Also in the class are six trainees for the Vanderbilt University police department.
Recruit Session 58 is expected to begin academy training in June.
