
Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s precincts, charged 97 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged six people this week as a result of investigations on Bell Road, Mt. View Road, and Jonquil Drive. Seized were five ounces of marijuana and 75 ecstasy pills.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 24 persons this week as the result of investigations on 1st Avenue South, Murfreesboro Pike, Nashboro Boulevard, Lebanon Pike, Lewis Street, and Old Hickory Boulevard. Seized were 4.7 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of marijuana and 115 various pills.
West Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on Jefferson Street, Charlotte Pike, Maudina Avenue, 43rd Avenue North near Alabama Avenue, and the 2100 block of Hermosa Street. Officers seized 236 grams of marijuana, 30.5 grams of cocaine, 140 Lortab pills, ten OxyContin pills, and 39 Xanax pills.
North Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Gallatin Pike, Trinity Lane, 51st Avenue North, Kings Lane, Michigan Avenue, and Indiana Avenue. Seized were 10.1 grams of cocaine, six various pills, .8 grams of heroin, one weapon, three vehicles and $3,095 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged seven persons as a result of investigations in the James Cayce public housing development, and on Litton Avenue, Dickerson Pike, and Trinity Lane. Seized were 2.1 grams of cocaine and 47.1 grams of marijuana.
Central Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on 6th Avenue North and Church, North 1st, Oldham, Cowan, Jefferson, Lafayette, and Drexel Streets. Seized were 71 grams of cocaine and 28 grams of marijuana.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
