Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s six precincts, charged 223 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 115 persons as the result of investigations on Little Hamilton Avenue, Perkins Street, Harding Place, Tampa Drive, Wallace Road, and Glenrose Avenue.  Seized were five grams of cocaine, 260 grams of marijuana and $581 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Lewis Street, Murfreesboro Pike, Central Pike, Rockwood Drive, Vultee Boulevard, Hermitage Avenue, Bell Road, and Old Hickory Boulevard.  Seized were 31 grams of marijuana and 40 various pills.

West Precinct detectives charged 26 persons as the result of investigations on Brookmont Terrace, Hillsboro Road, Merry Street, 21st Avenue North at Hermosa Street, Hillside Avenue, and Colemont Court.  Seized were 16.75 pounds of marijuana, 85.2 grams of cocaine and $265 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 32 persons as the result of investigations on Gallatin Pike, Trinity Lane, Brick Church Pike, Long Hollow Pike, Due West Avenue, Clarksville Pike, Meharry Boulevard, 40th and 51st Avenues North, and Jefferson Street.  Seized were 32.4 grams of cocaine, 56 grams of marijuana, 30 morphine pills and $5,475 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Lemont Drive, the James Cayce public housing development, Dickerson Pike, and Meridian Street.  Seized were 1.3 grams of cocaine and 8.4 grams of marijuana.

Central Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on 5th, 9th and 10th Avenues North, 7th Avenue South, Ewing Avenue, and Lafayette and Church Streets.  Seized were 71 grams of cocaine.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
