West Precinct detectives have identified two of four persons believed to have been involved in a series of residential automobile burglaries in the Abbott Martin Road – Cross Creek Road area of Green Hills in the early morning hours of June 24th.

Joshua P. Elliott, 26, is named in arrest warrants charging auto burglary and theft after police learned he tried to cash a victim’s check. Johnathan Lee Smith, 18, is named in an arrest warrant charging auto burglary after forensic evidence linked him to the crime scene. Elliott and Smith, along with two other unidentified suspects, were also photographed by a Wal-Mart surveillance system as they attempted to use a victim’s credit card to get cash from an ATM machine.

Anyone seeing Elliott and Smith, or anyone knowing their whereabouts, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Additionally, anyone knowing the identities of the persons appearing with Elliott in the surveillance video is also asked to contact Crime Stoppers. Citizens can also send an electronic message to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES). Tips can also be sent through the Crime Stoppers website, www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.

*The group may be traveling in an older model blue Oldsmobile or Chevrolet sedan.

*Smith is the person in the ball cap in the surveillance photos. The two persons to either side of him are unidentified suspects.
