The continuing investigation into a home burglary on Gerald Place in Belle Meade led to the discovery of a drug apartment in a South Nashville complex.
Marc Rice, a suspect in the Belle Meade case, was being arrested early today on an outstanding Williamson County burglary warrant when South Precinct and Belle Meade officers saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside his apartment in the Jamestown complex on Adamwood Court. A search warrant was obtained, which resulted in the seizure of small quantities of marijuana, mushrooms, cocaine, Ecstasy pills, an assault-type rifle, a .380 caliber pistol, drug scales, and a homemade ski mask.
An upstairs closet appeared as if it was being converted into a make-shift marijuana grow room.
A subsequent search of a car Rice had been driving revealed many of the items stolen from the Belle Meade home, including foreign coins and jewelry.
Rice and his roommate, Andrew Gee, both 20-years-old, are charged with the Belle Meade burglary as well as a number of drug offenses. Rice is being held in lieu of $95,000 bond. Gee’s bond is set at $24,000.
