Last weekend’s Operation Safer Streets gang enforcement initiative, which took place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, resulted in 81 arrests involving 88 misdemeanors, two felonies, and 26 outstanding warrants. Seized were 43.9 grams of cocaine, 10.4 grams of marijuana, and six various pills.

At least three times a week, officers and supervisors representing each of the six precincts and the Specialized Investigations Division (SID) partner together to implement strategies to combat gang crime and activities in various areas of Nashville.

Friday’s enforcement consisted of five SID detectives, one SID sergeant, two canine officers, one Special Operations Division sergeant, and 20 patrol officers. Areas targeted were Haywood Lane, Richardson Avenue at Dickerson Pike, Stockell Street, Douglas Avenue at North 7th Street, Trinity Lane at Dozier Place, South 5th Street at Main Street, Cahal Avenue at Gallatin Avenue, Cleveland Street at Lischey Avenue, North 2nd Street, St. Louis Street, Jefferson Street, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, Nolensville Pike, Paragon Mills Road, Travis Drive, Largo Drive, Harding Place, and Ezell Road.

Saturday’s enforcement consisted of five SID detectives, two SID sergeants, two canine officers, and 34 patrol officers. Areas targeted were downtown Nashville, Madison, 11th Avenue North at Jefferson Street, Salemtown, Germantown, the Cheatham Place public housing development, 5th Avenue North at Garfield Street, Trinity Lane, Brick Church Pike, Whites Creek Pike, the James Cayce public housing development, Main Street, and Rosa Parks Boulevard.

Sunday’s enforcement consisted of six SID detectives, one SID sergeant, one SID lieutenant and five patrol officers. Areas targeted were Madison, Nolensville Pike, Harding Place, and Murfreesboro Pike.
