Undercover detectives, assigned to four of the department’s six precincts, charged 96 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Whispering Oaks Place, Antioch Pike, Wallace Road, and Creekside Drive. Seized were 21.2 grams of cocaine, 74.1 grams of marijuana, and 267 Seroquel pills.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Robertson, Berry, Lafayette, and Lewis Streets, University Court, Rayon Drive, Donelson Pike, Stewarts Ferry Pike, Deerwood Drive, and Granwood Boulevard. Seized were 38.4 grams of cocaine, 99.6 grams of marijuana, five various pills, two weapons, one vehicle, and $5,353 cash.

West Precinct detectives charged 33 persons as the result of investigations on 38th Avenue North near Dakota Avenue, the 900 block of Davidson Road, Herman Street, and 11th Avenue South at Summitt Avenue. Seized were 370 grams of marijuana, 62 grams of mushrooms, two grams of hashish, 29 grams of cocaine, one gram of heroin, two vehicles, one weapon, and $643 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Louisiana and Kentucky Avenues, Buchanan Street, Trinity Lane, Clarksville Pike, Meharry Boulevard, Charlotte Pike, 24th Avenue North, Heiman Street, and Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard. Seized were 1.1 grams of cocaine, ten grams of marijuana, 1.6 grams of heroin, three weapons, and $735 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
