The woman found fatally shot early this morning inside her Gwen Drive home was the victim of an apparent murder-attempted suicide.

The investigation by North Precinct detectives shows that Brandon Watson, 20, fatally wounded his girlfriend, Audra McCullough, 19, before shooting himself outside the residence they shared on Gwen Drive. Witnesses reported that Watson, who had been drinking, got into an argument with McCullough and shot her at 12:15 a.m. He then turned the gun on himself.

Watson is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head.
