South Precinct Crime Suppression Unit detectives during the night arrested five employees of three separate Lafayette Street markets for selling glass tubes commonly used as crack pipes to undercover police operatives who, during their purchases, clearly referred to the tubes as instruments for drug use. 

The two-week investigation resulted in the execution of search warrants last night at:

“Investigations such as this are very important to attack cocaine and other drug use in crime and violence hotspots,” Chief Ronal Serpas said.
