FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 5, 2008

Hermitage Precinct detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the Circle K market at 2011 Elm Hill Pike early Sunday morning.

The robber entered the market at 4:45 a.m., asked for a carton of Newport cigarettes, pulled up his shirt as if he had a weapon, and demanded money.  The clerk did not see a gun, but complied with his demand believing that he was armed. After receiving cash and three more cartons of cigarettes, the robber fled to a waiting car at the Elm Hill Pike-Wanda Drive intersection.

The robber is described as a black man in his mid 20s.  He is approximately 6’2” tall, and was wearing a tan shirt, blue jeans, white shoes, and a nylon covering on his head.

Anyone recognizing the suspect from pictures captured by the store’s surveillance system is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
