Three persons face criminal charges as a result of the police response to an overnight shots fired call at Robin Hood Condominiums on Forest Park Road in Madison.
When officers arrived at the condo complex at 3:15 a.m., they found three cars and two units that had been damaged by gunfire. One of the units had a number of bullet holes in the brick and windows. The three men and one woman inside the home were not hurt, but the four guns (three pistols & one rifle), marijuana, and 76 ecstasy pills found inside the condo resulted in charges against the men.
Clarence E. Shaw, 19, of Brickdale Lane, was charged late this afternoon with ecstasy possession for resale, marijuana possession, violation of the Crooks with Guns law, and unlawful pistol possession. Shaw is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault for shooting at two men last December. Shaw is being held in the Metro Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.
The two other men in the condo, Sidney Epps and Marquis Odems, both 20, were issued misdemeanor citations for possessing pistols while under the age of 21.
Officers believe the condo the men were in was specifically targeted for gunfire early today. A potential gang-related motive is under investigation.
