Vanderbilt Police and Sex Crimes detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men who robbed a student near her dorm on the Vanderbilt University campusFriday night.

The 24-year-old woman was walking toward McTyeire Hall on central campus when a man ran up to her, pushed her down, and demanded her money just before 9 p.m. When she told him it was in her purse, a second suspect appeared, grabbed the woman’s purse and ran away.

The first suspect then fondled the woman as she lay on the ground before he also fled on foot. The victim called police from a campus emergency phone.

Both suspects are described as black men in their 20s weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds. The first suspect was wearing braces on his teeth and is approximately 5’8” tall. He was wearing a gray or blue jacket with writing on the front. The second suspect is approximately 5’10” tall.
