The pedestrian fatally injured Saturday night has now been positively identified as Linda Harris, 38, who was homeless. Harris was pushing a shopping cart across a dimly lit section of North 1st Street near Jefferson Street when she was struck by the driver of a southbound Dodge pickup at 8 p.m. Harris was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Charges are not expected to be filed against the truck driver, Marion Pugh, 55, of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee.
