
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 137 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Bowfield Drive, Largo Drive, Harding Place, and Shasta Drive. Seized were two grams of cocaine, 1.75 ounces of marijuana, and 2.45 ounces of mushrooms.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, Foothill Drive, 1st Avenue South, 5th Avenue South, and Royal Parkway. Seized were 13 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of marijuana, 2.68 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, one vehicle, and $525 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 49 persons as the result of investigations in the 3700 block of Park Avenue, Cabot Drive, the 2800 block of Kirkwood Avenue, and the 300 block of Chamberlin Street. Seized were 14.5 pounds of marijuana, 78 grams of cocaine, 48 Lortab pills, one weapon, and two vehicles.
North Precinct detectives charged 31 persons as the result of investigations on Jenkins Court, 25th, 40th, and 17th Avenues North, Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, Clifton Avenue, Whites Creek Pike, Cephas Street, Buchanan Street, Clay Street, Heiman Street, and Dickerson Pike. Seized were 2.5 pounds of cocaine, 81 grams of marijuana, six weapons, five vehicles, and $6,220 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Delta Avenue at Buchanan Street, the 1400 block of Crockett Street, and the 1500 block of Jones Avenue. Seized were 5.1 grams of cocaine and $1,009 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged nine persons as the result of investigations on Ewing Avenue, Oak Street, 6th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, Oldham Street, and Jefferson Street.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
