The man arrested early Saturday in Nashville for robbing a bank in Martin, Tennessee, has now been identified as the person who robbed the SunTrust Bank’s 2814 West End Avenue branch January 14.

Edward Lynn Tharpe, 48, of Martin, Tennessee, admitted he entered the SunTrust bank armed with a handgun and demanded money from a teller. The teller complied.

Tharpe is jailed in his hometown where he is charged in Friday afternoon’s robbery of Martin’s Regions bank branch. Members of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force will also charge him federally with the SunTrust Bank robbery.
