Hermitage Precinct detectives are working to identify the man who fatally shot Jerry Gurney, 42, in the 1000 block of Thompson Place Friday night. Officers responded to a shots fired call at 10:15 p.m. and found Gurney lying on the sidewalk. A witness reported that Gurney fought with the suspect just before the shooting. The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s with braided hair, fled on foot on Patricia Drive.Anyone with information about Gurney’s murder is urged to contact Hermitage Precinct Investigations at 862-6993 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
