FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 6, 2008

Sex Crimes detectives this afternoon charged a man with raping a 35-year-old mentally challenged woman inside a restroom of the LIFESolutions daytime treatment facility on 16th Avenue South.

Mark Christopher Beasley, 34, of 28th Avenue North, was spotted coming out of the restroom by management just after 11 a.m. and was ordered to leave. The victim quickly reported that she had been raped and police were called. West Precinct Officer Randall Moore spotted Beasley, who matched the description given by LIFESolutions staff, walking on 15th Avenue South at Villa Place and took him into custody.

During an interview with Detective Greg Robinson, Beasley gave several conflicting statements before ultimately implicating himself in the sexual assault. There is no indication that Beasley had prior contact with the victim. He is not employed by LIFESolutions.

Beasley is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
