
Last weekend’s Operation Safer Streets gang enforcement initiative, which took place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday resulted in 63 arrests involving three felonies, 64 misdemeanors, and 13 outstanding warrants. Seized were 182 grams of marijuana and two grams of cocaine.
At least three times a week, officers and supervisors representing each of the six precincts and the Specialized Investigations Division (SID) partner together to implement strategies to combat gang crime and activities in various areas of Nashville.
Friday’s enforcement consisted of seven SID detectives, four patrol officers, and three canine units. Areas targeted were the J.C. Napier public housing development, University Court, Harding Place, Linbar Drive, Antioch Pike, Richards Road, Collins Park Drive, Bell Road, and Edgehill Avenue.
Saturday’s enforcement consisted of six SID detectives, three patrol officers, and one canine unit. Areas targeted were the James Cayce public housing development, University Court, the J.C. Napier public housing development, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, Jefferson Street, Buchanan Street, and Metrocenter Boulevard.
Sunday’s enforcement consisted of eight SID detectives and six patrol officers. Areas targeted were Harding Place and Nolensville Pike.
