West Precinct Flex officers today charged 14 Hillsboro High School students with loitering during school hours for leaving campus when they were supposed to be in class.
“The police department continues to be very serious about ensuring that students are in school and not walking the streets,” Chief Ronal Serpas said."A commitment to education by young people and their families is key to a successful adulthood.”
Today’s truancy operation is the latest in an ongoing effort between the police department, Juvenile Court and school officials to see that students remain in class until dismissal.
