East Precinct detectives developed information that led to the arrest this afternoon of a teenager wanted in two separate street robberies in the James Cayce public housing development.

Dejuan Bell, 15, of Maury Street, was walking in the 500 block of Sylvan Street when he was captured at 4:30 p.m. by East Precinct Flex officers, East Precinct Crime Suppression Unit officers, and members of the Special Response Team.

Bell has been identified asa suspect in a robberyat 6 p.m. Tuesday. The 19-year-old victim was walking on South 6th Street near Sylvan Street when he was approached by two individuals. Despite complying with robbery demands, the victim was shot in the leg. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Bell is also a suspect in a January 2nd robbery at South 6th and Sylvan Streets where he allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint at 4:45 p.m.

Juvenile Court petitions charging two counts of aggravated robbery have been issued against Bell.
