
East Precinct patrol officers charged a man with aggravated burglary for breaking into a home in the 1000 block of Elvira Avenue early this morning.
The homeowner reported that Marty Dale Waynick, 45, had stolen from him in the past. The victim said Waynick used a crow bar to gain entry through the front door, stole his wallet, and fled on foot at 1:10 a.m. Officers located Waynick a short time later on Thomas Street. The victim’s wallet was on the ground near the suspect. The victim positively identified Waynick as the man who broke into his home. Waynick was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Waynick is being held in lieu of $52,000 bond. He has been arrested 27 times since 1995 with convictions for assault, cocaine possession, theft, and DUI.
