South Precinct detectives are investigating similarities in three recent murder cases in an effort to determine any relationship between them.
The victims, one white man, one man of Hispanic descent, and one black man, were all shot to death on the street.
Brandon Coons, 21, was found fatally wounded at 8:50 p.m. on December 13 in the 900 block of 6th Avenue South.
Jose Coronado, 28, was found fatally wounded December 15 beside railroad tracks just south of Fogg Street and 7th Avenue South. Beside Coronado and also wounded was Francisco Moreno Ramos, 48. Ramos is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Detectives have not yet been able to interview Ramos in detail, but will as his medical condition improves.
George W. Ingle, 51, of Benton Avenue, was found fatally wounded at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Benton Avenue and Vine Hill Road.
The circumstances and motives in all three cases remain under investigation. Detectives have been in the area just south of the inner city asking persons, particularly those who live on the street, whether they have any information that can aid the investigation. Certain leads have been developed and are being pursued.
Anyone with information on any of these three cases is urged to contact South Precinct Investigations at 862-7763 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
