Alert police work by Hermitage Precinct Officer Scott Ragan led to the arrest of a man suspected of robbing two convenience stores early Tuesday morning.

Eric William Anderson, 35, of Mt. Juliet, entered the Chevron Store at 3840 Lebanon Pike at 12:50 a.m. After picking up a six pack of beer, he approached the clerk, indicated that he had a weapon, and demanded money. The clerk, who was behind a bullet proof enclosure, dialed 911. Anderson took the beer and fled in a Honda Accord.

Twenty minutes later, Anderson entered the Exxon Tiger Mart at 4601 Lebanon Pike. He approached the counter with a six pack of beer and demanded money from the clerk at knifepoint. She complied. He fled in the Accord.

Officer Ragan spotted the suspect’s car a short time later parked behind a house on Lafayette Street. Anderson was taken into custody without incident. He was positively identified as the robber and later confessed to his involvement.

Anderson is charged with aggravated robbery and attempted robbery. He is being held in lieu of $101,500 bond. His arrest history reflects drug, theft, and burglary charges.
