Undercover detectives, assigned to the department’s six precincts, charged 142 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Harding Place, Garden Street, Linbar Drive, and Lafayette Street. Seized were nine grams of cocaine, six ounces of marijuana, and one weapon.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 43 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Cameron Street, Mulberry Street, Lewis Street, University Court, Briley Parkway, and Claiborne Street. Seized were two grams of cocaine, three grams of marijuana, ten various pills, and three weapons.

West Precinct detectives charged 27 persons as the result of investigations on Charlotte Pike, Brookhollow Drive, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, Jefferson Street, 25th Avenue North at Booker and Merry Streets, the 3700 block of Park Street, and the 2300 block of Clifton Avenue. Seized were 15 grams of cocaine, 457.4 grams of marijuana, eleven grams of heroin, and 80 Ecstasy pills.

North Precinct detectives charged 25 persons as the result of investigations on Gallatin Pike, 11th Avenue North, Old Hickory Boulevard, Vailview Drive, 22nd Avenue North, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, and Sunnyview Drive. Seized were 25.1 grams of cocaine, 119.8 grams of marijuana, eight various pills, six weapons, and $7,553 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on McFerrin Avenue, Eastland Avenue, Chester Avenue, Chapel Avenue, Jones Avenue, Chickasaw Avenue, Grace Street, Joseph Avenue, the 1300 block of 11th Avenue South, and the Dickerson Pike area. Seized were 127 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of marijuana, one weapon, and $1,240 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Peabody Street, Lea Avenue, 6th Avenue South, Lafayette Street, Hermitage Avenue, Academy Place, 4th Avenue North, and Coffee Street. Seized were eight grams of cocaine and 40 grams of marijuana.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
