Impaired and/or aggressive drivers will be the focus of enhanced traffic enforcement throughout Nashville during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Seventy officers, paid through a grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, will work the special enforcement program Thanksgiving, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Those officers will complement the DUI squad and other officers in watching for impaired drivers and those not wearing seatbelts.
So far this year in Davidson County, nearly half of all fatal accidents involved impaired drivers while nearly 60% involved persons not wearing seatbelts.
