Sex Crimes detectives Wednesday night arrested a 46-year-old employee of a Whites Creek area ranch on three counts of aggravated statutory rape for having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.
Mark Cruz, who has worked at A Cowboy Town at 3665 Knight Road since March, was retained during the summer to give the victim horseback riding lessons. She was subsequently employed at the ranch. Detectives learned that over the past few months, Cruz portrayed himself as having connections to the music industry and said that he wanted to manage the victim’s singing career. He is accused of having sexual relations with the victim on three occasions, in August, September, and this month, in secluded areas of the ranch.
Anyone knowing of other inappropriate conduct by Cruz, particularly with minors, is asked to contact the police department’s Sex Crimes Unit at 862-7540. The ranch staff has been fully cooperative with the police department’s investigation.
