Accused killer Reginald Adkins surrendered himself at police headquarters this afternoon and is now jailed for last Tuesday’s shooting death of Jarrod Collins outside Last Chance Market on Dickerson Pike. East Precinct detectives had been looking for Adkins, 19, of Inga Street, since Friday night when they identified him as the suspected gunman. Adkins is being held without bail on a charge of criminal homicide.

Collins, 31, of Stainback Avenue, was shot in the back during an apparent robbery attempt. Arrested last week were two alleged accomplices, Darryl Thompson, 20, of Meridian Street, and Brandy Lea Birdwell, 25, of Clarksville Pike. They are also charged with criminal homicide.
