FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 12, 2007

The man critically wounded outside the Chuck E Cheese restaurant at 2070 North Gallatin Pike shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday is identified as Travell Price, 29.

Price was walking to his car with his three daughters and wife when a gunman wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt appeared and ran toward them. Upon seeing the gunman, Price tried to run away. The gunman shot Price in the leg and the upper body before fleeing in a vehicle, possibly a black Dodge.

A black Dodge that may be related to the case was located last night from the 800 block of Pennington Avenue. The investigation into exactly who was in the Dodge is continuing.

Detectives believe that Price was specifically targeted by the gunman. The motive appears to be related to a dispute between rap groups. Price acknowledges his association with rap recordings. Price has a lengthy arrest history over the past ten years.
