
Tennessee State University football fans are reminded that an enhanced traffic management plan is in place for Saturday evening’s homecoming game between the Tigers and Murray State that should greatly reduce traffic delays and congestion.
Football fans with parking passes are strongly urged to arrive at LP Field via the I-24 Shelby Avenue exit. Officers and staff will direct motorists into parking lots specifically designated for parking pass holders.
Football fans without parking passes are strongly urged to take the I-24 Jefferson Street exit and proceed to LP Field via 1st Avenue. Officers and staff will direct those motorists to parking lots specifically designated for game day cash parking ($15 per vehicle).
Most LP Field parking lots will open at 1 p.m., with the exception of Lot C (a parking pass lot) which will open at 8 a.m. for Tigertown Tailgating. Stadium gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.
Tiger fans are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the traffic management plan and to ARRIVE EARLY at LP Field.
Thousands of persons are expected to line the route for TSU’s annual homecoming parade Saturday morning. The parade, which will feature an estimated 100 floats, will begin at 9 a.m. from 21st Avenue North at Heiman Street. The parade will travel on 21st Avenue North to Jefferson Street and Jefferson Street to 33rd Avenue North. It will officially end at 33rd Avenue North and Albion Street. Road closures along the 16-block parade route will begin Saturday morning by 8 a.m.
