
Sex Crimes detectives are working to identify the man who raped a 24-year-old woman inside her apartment at the Mission Creek complex off Briley Parkway in South Nashville at approximately 6:30 a.m. today.
The suspect, who was armed with a knife, may have entered the apartment through an unlocked door. He confronted the victim, who had just gotten up, ordered her back to the bedroom and forcibly raped her. He fled the apartment shortly before 7 a.m.
The suspect is described as a black man with a thin build. He is approximately six feet tall and was wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt or sweatshirt, a gray hat, and tennis shoes. He had no facial hair.
Anyone in the area of Mission Creek Apartments and Briley Parkway early today who saw a man matching the suspect’s description is urged to contact the police department’s Sex Crimes Unit at 862-7540.
