Metro Police patch

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 18, 2007

The woman found dead this afternoon on the banks of the Cumberland River behind a brickyard at 2 Oldham Street appears to have been murdered.

No identification was found on or around the victim. She is white. She was wearing a navy blue long sleeve sweat shirt and blue jeans. Efforts will be made to identify the victim through fingerprints; however, the advanced state of decomposition will make that more difficult.

A worker at Alley Cassetty Companiesfound the body at 3 p.m.

Anyone potentially able to identify the victim through the clothing description is urged to contact Central Precinct detectives at 862-7611.
