FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 17, 2007

North Precinct detectives Tuesday night charged 18-year-old Kenneth Williams with aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery in connection with two cases on October 9, and have evidence implicating him in Sunday’s Halloween mask hold-ups involving five businesses. Identities of other persons believed to have been involved in Sunday’s cases have also been developed. More charges against Williams and additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.

Williams, 18, of Marina Street, admits to accompanying a co-defendant who wore a Halloween mask while robbing Little Caesar’s Pizza at 400 North Gallatin Pike at gunpoint at 12:20 p.m. on October 9. Williams also admitted to accompanying a masked suspect in an unsuccessful robbery attempt at Roma Pizza at 3803 Gallatin Pike at 12:15 p.m. on October 9.

Williams is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. His photograph is not being released at present so as not to interfere with pending lineups.

The break in the case is the result of citizen assistance through Crime Stoppers and outstanding investigative work by detectives from several precincts.
