An undercover sting set up Wednesday in response to complaints about drug sales in Andrew Jackson public housing and on Jo Johnston Avenue resulted in the arrest of eight persons for soliciting the sale of crack cocaine. One additional person was arrested for possession of crack for resale.

An undercover officer posing as a drug dealer greeted prospective customers. Those requesting to buy crack were arrested by West Precinct detectives and officers assigned to the MDHA Task Force.

Similar sting operations will be conducted in the future.
