Metro Police patch

Detectives are continuing in their efforts to identify the man found murdered Monday in a vacant lot on Lewis Street near the Garden Street intersection.

The victim is black, probably in his 20s, 5’8” tall, and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He was wearing a short sleeve shirt with a design pattern over a long sleeve shirt. Both shirts were XXL in size. He was also wearing size 36 dark, baggy jeans with the words “South Pole” in large letters on the right pant leg.

A man looking for cans found the body under a piece of plastic at 1:40 p.m. Monday. The medical examiner found apparent blunt force trauma to the victim’s head.

Photographs of the victim’s short sleeve shirt and blue jeans accompany this media release on the Internet. Anyone believing they know the victim based on the clothing is urged to contact South Precinct Investigations at 862-7763 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
