
Men and women interested in becoming Metropolitan Nashville Police officers are cordially invited to attend an Open House on October 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the department’s training academy on Tucker Road.
The Open House is part of the continuing effort to attract outstanding police officer applicants from the Nashville region. Training academy and recruitment staff will be on hand to answer any questions prospective applicants might have. Spouses are also welcome.
The event will include information sessions on the requirements and process of becoming a police officer; pay and benefits; life in the police academy; and how to prepare for the physical training involved.
To be accepted as a police officer candidate, an applicant must be at least 21 and a U.S. citizen of good moral character. Applicants must have either at least 60 semester hours of college, two years of active military service, or five years of fulltime responsible work experience. Law enforcement professionals with at least two years experience from other agencies are also welcome to apply.
