Mayor Karl Deanand Chief Ronal Serpas today welcomedthe 40 members of police recruit Session 56, the first officer trainee class to begin under the Dean administration.
Mayor Dean emphasized his commitment to public safety andthanked the recruits for choosing law enforcement as a career.
Joining the 40 Metro members of Session 56 are eleven candidates for the Vanderbilt University Police Department.
Session 56 is slated to graduate on March 6, 2008.
