FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 30, 2007

The man fatally wounded at 1 a.m. today outside his 2912 Highland Drive home is identified as 21-year-old Cory Wayne Sanders. Sanders died shortly after arriving at Skyline Medical Center.

East Precinct detectives have learned that Sanders went outside and was shot a short time after receiving a telephone call. Sanders was known to carry a large sum of cash on his person. Detectives believe he was also robbed.

Several leads are now being pursued. Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
