Metro Police patch

Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed responsible for at least two bank robberies in Nashville this week, including one today.

Agents believe the same man is responsible for robbing the Regions Bank branch at 5200 Charlotte Pike at 2:30 today and the Regions branch at 4241 Harding Place Monday afternoon.

In both robberies, the suspect approached the teller, passed a robbery demand note, and implied that he had a weapon.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30’s. He is approximately 6’ tall and weighs approximately 300 pounds. He entered the bank this afternoon wearing a dark T-shirt, gray shorts, a ball cap, and large sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-Crime or Detective Keith Sutherland with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500.
