The two young men killed in a single-vehicle accident on Ewing Drive early this morning have been identified as Master Sweeney, 24, and Brent Whitset, 17, of Vista Place.
Sweeney was driving a 2007 Suzuki Forenza west on Ewing Drive when he passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed, lost control of the car, and struck a brick wall at Richmond Hills Drive at 1 a.m.
Evidence of alcohol was recovered from the Suzuki.
Sweeney’s excessive speed, improper passing, and failure to maintain control of the car appear to be the contributing factors to this fatal crash.
