FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 20, 2007

Central Precinct officers took two men into custody last week who, despite their repeated arrests, continue to victimize innocent persons.

Reginald Ousley, 29, was pushing a floor jack with two large trash cans down 1st Avenue North last Monday. As he attempted to cross Broadway the containers overturned spilling spools of wire and tools into the street. The materials had been stolen from a construction site.

Ousley is charged with burglary and is being held in lieu of $20,000 dollars bond.

Since June 8, Ousley has been arrested six times with convictions for trespassing, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.

On Thursday, officers spotted Victor Lee Jones, 27, rummaging around inside a Toyota Corolla parked at 901 2nd Avenue South. Several vehicle break-ins had been reported in the area. The Corolla’s owner confirmed that several items were missing from his car including a CD player and $2 change.

Jones, charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, is being held in lieu of $16,000 dollars bond. He has been arrested nearly 30 times with convictions for aggravated assault, trespassing, attempted burglary, and burglary of a motor vehicle.
