Undercover detectives assigned to five of the department’s six precincts this week charged 89 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 31 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Gillespie Court, Wedgewood Avenue, and Packard Drive. Seized were seven grams of cocaine, 2.2 pounds of marijuana, 84 various pills, two vehicles, five weapons, and $1,561 cash.

West Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Charlotte Pike at River Road, the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, 44th Avenue North, and 25th Avenue North at Batavia and Merry Streets. Seized were 110 grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, 555 counterfeit CDs, 104 counterfeit DVDs, two weapons, one vehicle, and $3,881 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Millwood Drive, Donelson Pike, Fesslers Lane, Spence Lane, Lebanon Pike, and Claiborne Street. Seized were one gram of cocaine, 15 grams of marijuana, and 120 various pills.

North Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Wade Circle, Sioux Terrace, Richmond Hill Drive, Bellshire Drive, Brick Church Pike, East Old Hickory Boulevard, Wilmoth Court, Delray Drive, and Ocoee Trail. Seized were 52.5 grams of cocaine, 61.7 grams of marijuana, 25 various pills, six weapons, and $914 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged five persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, Upland Drive, Shelby Avenue, Trinity Lane, and Brick Church Pike. Seized were 9.5 grams of cocaine, one weapon, two vehicles, and $1,550 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
