The man found dead after a single-vehicle accident Monday morning on Highway 100 is identified as Jerry Gardner, 56, of Worchester Drive.
Gardner was driving a Toyota Land Rover west on Highway 100 near Vaughans Gap Road at 6 am. A witness said the SUV drifted off the highway for no apparent reason and struck an embankment before rolling end over end.
Gardner, the only occupant in the Toyota, was wearing a seatbelt. Speed does not appear to be a factor in this fatal crash and there was no evidence of alcohol involvement at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
