The pedestrian struck and killed late Saturday night by a pickup truck on I-65 north near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit is identified as Billy Parker, Jr., 36, of Pleasant View, Tennessee.
Brandon McKenzie, 40, of Hendersonville, was driving north on I-65 near the Old Hickory Boulevard overpass when he said Parker entered his lane of travel. It is not known why Parker was in the traffic lane. Witnesses said they had seen him darting in and out of traffic before he was struck.
Parker, who carried no identification, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by relatives late Sunday afternoon.
McKenzie showed no signs of impairment. No charges against him are anticipated at present.
