
Officers early today arrested Ronnie Layhew, 52, for Tuesday’s stabbing death of Albert Morgan, Sr.
Morgan, 75, was found dead at 4:40 p.m. inside the camper in which he lived at 1529 4th Avenue South.
During the night, Central Precinct officers received information that Layhew was involved in the murder. He was located underneath an interstate bridge where he was living. Evidence was located at the scene tying Layhew to the murder. Robbery is a possible motive.
South Precinct Detective Brad Corcoran, the lead detective on this case, has charged Layhew with criminal homicide.
