The person shot to death at 5:15 a.m. today inside an apartment at 1398 Hillside Avenue is identified as Brandy Nichole White, 16, of Neal Terrace. White’s friend, Latasha Black, 17, of Nashville, was wounded and is hospitalized in stable condition.
Detectives have learned that Black was involved in an argument Tuesday with a young man over what were described as gang-related issues. The Gang Unit is assisting West Precinct detectives in the effort to identify the gunman who came to the apartment early today and shot the two victims.
The victims were at the apartment visiting a friend who had left for work at the time of the gunfire. A man who was asleep in the apartment when the shooting took place was not injured.
