A Lavergne man is charged with aggravated assault, driving with a suspended license, evading arrest, and resisting arrest, after striking South Precinct Flex Officer Shaun Hardin with his vehicle during a traffic stop Monday night.
Officers Hardin and Neil Wolfe attempted to stop Reginald Pryor, 28, at Interstate 24 West and Interstate 440 for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone at 11:30 p.m.
Pryor initially stopped, but drove off striking Officer Hardin who, fortunately, was not injured.
Officers Hardin and Wolfe pursued Pryor in their marked police car with blue lights and siren activated on I-440 for several miles before Pryor pulled over and stopped on I-440 near the West End Avenue exit. He resisted being handcuffed before he was taken into custody.
Pryor has a lengthy arrest history and a drug possession conviction. He is being held in lieu of $39,000 dollars bond.
