FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 25-year-old woman found shot to death at 12:40 a.m. today by a security guard during a routine patrol along the fence line of the parking lot at the Truck Stops of America at 111 North 1st Street has been identified.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Central Precinct detectives are trying to identify a person of interest for questioning in the homicide. He is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, with white hair and wearing eye glasses. He appears to be 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen at the truck stop around the time of the murder driving a 2000-2001 white Volvo tractor trailer pulling a flat bed with a large tan storage unit or crate.

Anyone with information about the woman’s murder is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or Central Precinct Investigations 862-7044.
