FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 21, 2007

Outstanding police work led to the arrest of two ex-cons accused of kidnapping a teenager Wednesday night.

Roy McIntosh, 29, of Jones Park Court, accused a 15-year-old of having knowledge of the whereabouts of a person McIntosh believed had burglarized his home. The teenager told investigators McIntosh struck him in the head with a pistol on Lischey Avenue, and forced him into a car driven by Jackie Daniels, Jr., 29, of Highland Trace Drive at 8 p.m.

Daniels drove around the area as McIntosh looked for the person he believed was responsible for the burglary. The teen managed to escape and contacted police.

A short time later, East Precinct Sergeant Kenneth Walburn stopped the suspects on Jones Avenue at Chickasaw Avenue. McIntosh got out of the car and ran into a nearby wooded area. Daniels was taken into custody.

Thanks to coordinated efforts by patrol officers and the Aviation Unit, McIntosh was quickly apprehended.

The K-9 Unit also responded and located a loaded handgun in the area where McIntosh was found hiding.

Both suspects are charged with aggravated kidnapping.

McIntosh is also charged with felon in possession of a handgun and aggravated assault. He is being held in lieu of $300,000 dollars bond.

Daniels is being held in lieu of $75,000 dollars bond.

McIntosh and Daniels have lengthy arrest histories. McIntosh was convicted of attempted criminal homicide in July of 1999.

Daniels has convictions for aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, unlawful weapon possession, and drug possession.
