FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 11, 2007

A 43-year-old Goodlettsville woman and her mother, 68, of Nashville, were killed this afternoon in a car-storage truck collision on Allied Drive.

The daughter was driving her 2003 Buick Century north on Keystone Avenue when after stopping at a stop sign she pulled out in front of the truck that was traveling east on Allied Drive at 2:15 p.m. The PODS truck was transporting a storage unit and struck the Buick in the front driver’s side door.

She died at the scene. Her mother, a front seat passenger, was transported to Southern Hills Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Both women were wearing their seatbelts.

The truck driver was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The daughter’s failure to yield at a marked intersection appears to be the contributing factor to this fatal crash.

The women’s names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
