Two brothers convicted of attempted robbery in Criminal Court two months ago are back behind bars for robbing a man early today at 3rd Avenue South and Chestnut Street.
Quick work by South Precinct Flex officers led to the arrests of Brandon Easley, 22, and Kasey Easley, 21. They are being held in lieu of $500,000 bond each.
William Seagroves, 37, was approached by the brothers at 1:40 a.m. They asked whether he wanted to buy drugs. Seagroves declined and began to walk away. Seagroves said Brandon Easley then pulled him to the ground and demanded that he empty his pockets. Seagroves surrendered $27.30 and the brothers fled. Seagroves ran to a telephone and called police.
Flex officers responded to the area and spotted two men matching the descriptions given by Seagroves in an alley between 2nd and 3rd Avenues South. When the brothers saw the police cars, they hurriedly headed in the opposite direction. They were stopped on Cameron Street. Both were out of breath and were sweating profusely. Seagroves positively identified the two as being responsible for robbing him. Neither suspect would answer police questions.
South Flex officers arrested Brandon and Kasey Easley last July for attempting to rob a man at a Harding Place fast food restaurant. They were convicted on that case in April of this year.
